BOSTON– The Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation (CEDAC) announced that it has committed more than $6 million in early-stage financing to support four affordable housing developments in Massachusetts.
These projects are among eight statewide initiatives awarded funding in the 12th annual Supportive Housing competitive round led by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC).
Together, the eight awarded projects will create 146 new rental homes, including 96 units specifically designated for extremely low-income individuals and households, many of whom are transitioning out of homelessness.
“The projects that are part of EOHLC’s latest supportive housing funding round highlight the significant progress we are able to make through collaboration with our non-profit partners and the Commonwealth,” said CEDAC Executive Director Ethan Handelman. “We look forward to continuing to finance the development of affordable supportive housing for people in need across Massachusetts.”
The four projects receiving CEDAC’s early-stage financing include:

Attleboro Family Center, Attleboro – CEDAC provided $400,000 in predevelopment funding and $5,062,147 in acquisition funding to the Planning Office for Urban Affairs (POUA) to transform a former nursing home into housing for 50 homeless families.

Ashford Street Lodging House Deep Energy Retrofit, Boston – Allston Brighton Community Development Corporation (ABCDC) received $100,000 in predevelopment funding for a deep energy retrofit of its 12-unit supportive housing property, originally developed to assist individuals impacted by the AIDS epidemic and currently serving formerly homeless and low-income residents.
