Massachusetts is ranked as the premier place to reside for 2023 by WalletHub

WalletHub’s 2023 Best States to Live In list ranked Massachusetts as the top U.S. state to reside in.

WalletHub compared all 50 states using five criteria and 51 indicators that examined affordability, economy, education and health, quality of life, safety, housing costs, income development, job chances, instructional levels, and the standard of medical centers.

Massachusetts was ranked the highest, taking the first spot overall, as well as being the primary place It had sixth place rankings for both quality of life and safety, eleventh spot for economy, and forty fourth in affordability when it came to education.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts was also top tier in terms of financial expansion, placing thirteenth. Furthermore,  Massachusetts rated first for its proportion of insured persons, fifth for having the fewest average hours worked in the week, and tenth for its quantity of eateries per individual.

New Jersey was the runner-up, and coming in third was New Hampshire. The list concluded with New York and Wyoming in fourth and fifth places respectively.

Massachusetts is the second-best state to live in the U.S., according to WalletHub’s 2021 Best States to Live In list

WalletHub compared all 50 states across five metrics covering affordability, economy, education and wealth, quality of life and safety. States were also compared across 52 livability indicators, including housing costs, income growth, education rates and the quality of hospitals. 

Massachusetts topped the list in education, coming in at No. 1. It ranked fifth in quality of life and safety, 12th for economy and 45th for affordability.
