Christian McCaffrey wants $12.5M for North Carolin…

In the wake of his 2022 transition from the Carolina Panthers to the San Francisco 49ers, NFL running back Christian McCaffrey is parting ways with his last remaining North Carolina property.

After successfully selling his Charlotte condo for $3 million in late 2023, McCaffrey is now putting his sprawling French château-inspired estate on the market, nestled along the scenic shores of nearby Lake Norman, with an asking price of $12.5 million.

Situated on approximately 9 acres, the gated property boasts two gyms and an impressive 500 feet of lake frontage, according to the listing.

McCaffrey, 27, expressed the difficulty of parting with the property in an email to the Wall Street Journal, which was the first to report on the listing, saying, “It was such a difficult decision to have to sell this house, but because I play in the Bay now, I am never there.”

The NFL star, who was drafted by the Panthers in 2017, added that the condo and the Lake Norman home were his sole North Carolina properties.

“It pains me letting them go, but that’s life I guess.”

Having vacated the Lake Norman residence, McCaffrey’s former abode is now staged for potential buyers.

McCaffrey’s connection with the Lake Norman estate dates back to 2020, when he bought it for $7.5 million, setting a sales record for the Charlotte metro area at the time.

Although this record was surpassed in 2023, McCaffrey’s sale could potentially reclaim its title if it fetches the asking…
