Gigi Hadid braved the rain in New York City on Wednesday in a pair of bright orange flip-flops to celebrate her partnership with Havaianas at a party with guests including Olivia Palermo and Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele.
Alongside Havaianas, the model hosted a launch event at Altro Paradiso in celebration of her vintage-inspired campaign, which was brought to life at the event with a sunset-hued branded setting and authentic Brazilian touches.
Hadid was revealed as a global brand ambassador for the flip-flop brand in March, and she debuted her creative director title at Wednesday’s celebratory launch.

Hadid paired her vibrant thong sandals with Marc Jacobs’ Sculptural Gem Tweed dress, a mini-length sleeveless dress embellished with hand-applied gemstones of various colors and sizes against a white tweed backdrop. As Marc Jacobs describes, the dress takes inspiration from “the doll-like proportions” showcased on the fall 2024 runway. The silhouette features a high neck, a narrow waist, and an A-line skirt.
As for her shoes, Hadid modeled the Slim Square flip-flops, which are part of her upcoming codesigned capsule collection with the brand. Slated for release in June, the collection looks to infuse high-fashion flip-flops with a retro spin.
“To be the Havaianas global ambassador is surreal,” Hadid told WWD exclusively. “Growing up at the beach, I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t wearing this summer staple. I’m excited to be working with this team and I love that Havaianas is making a comeback.”
In addition to a square-toe silhouette, the sandals Hadid wore feature warm sunset colors, as well as the model’s signature on the sole.
