Jeff Bezos Rents Malibu House from Kenny G – DIRT

As the third richest person on the planet, Jeff Bezos unsurprisingly maintains a prodigious portfolio of conspicuously expensive, high-maintenance homes, boats, and airplanes.

The globe-galivanting gajillionaire, who founded Amazon in late 1994 and stepped down as CEO in early 2021, has been bobbing around the Mediterranean for the last week or so on Koru, his brand-spanking-new 417-foot sailing yacht that, not including its 246-foot support vessel, cost an estimated half a billion dollars to build. Among its many attributes and amenities, the three-masted boat sports a voluptuous wooden figurehead that looks an awful lot like his girlfriend of five years, Lauren Sanchez.

It’s apropos, then, that the money-is-no-object lovebirds, both in their 50s, were reported to have gotten engaged this week while aboard the ship-sized schooner that bears Sanchez’s likeness on her prow. As of this writing, they’ve yet to confirm or deny their betrothal, but the helicopter-flying broadcast entertainment reporter turned philanthropist was photographed while aboard Koru this week with a gigantic, multimillion-dollar engagement-style sparkler on the ring finger of her left hand.

When they’re ready to put their sea legs on some terra firma, Bezos and Sanchez can choose one of about half a dozen sumptuous homes scattered across the United States. And according to recent reports, they’ll likely return to Los Angeles, where Bezos owns a 10-acre estate in a prime part of Beverly Hills that he picked up a few years ago from David Geffen for a traffic-stopping $165 million.

However, Bezos’ BevHills abode is under construction inside and out —a new pool and pool house, new windows, updated landscaping — and has been for quite some time. Therefore, the couple is headed out to Malibu, where since at least March they’ve rented a bluff-top compound on Malibu’s Point Dume.

The Malibu estate was misidentified in at least one press report as being owned by celebrity…
