So, when the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” clan and the RHOBH gals went to Lake Tahoe a couple years ago—on separate trips!—it’s not too much of a surprise they shacked in the same super-sized alpine lodge in South Lake Tahoe. Rentable the last several years at a cost of $6-8,000 per night, depending on the season, the rustic luxe mansion is now available for sale for $19.8 million to multimillionaires looking to put up 30 to 40 of their friends and family all at the same time.
Hidden down a gated drive on a forested hillside just above the base of South Lake Tahoe’s Heavenly Valley ski resort, the massive dwelling is known as Gunbarrel Lodge, after the ski resort’s iconic Gunbarrel run.
Besides the convenient ski-in/ski-out locale and the epic mountain views over the glimmering waters of Lake Tahoe, no doubt another of the appeals to the reality TV stars was the 16,500-square-foot mansion’s 17 bedrooms, not to mention the 18 bathrooms, heated indoor pool, rooftop hot tub, and 24-seat movie theater.
Built by local builder Bob McIntyre, who purchased the 15.34-acre property with an investor in 2012, the house was completed in 2017 and last sold in August of 2019 for $12.1 million. Records show the owner is a Texas-based concern connected to the Lone Star State’s billionaire Hixson family.
