It would be nearly a decade before Usher picked up another Atlanta property in 2007. This time, he paid $970,000 for a three-bedroom, three-bathroom pad situated close to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The sleek, modern home measured 2,908 square feet, with an enviable rooftop deck and an airy open-concept layout. A dark palette—the walls were painted black—was balanced by light hardwood floors and oversized windows that let in ample natural light. The dark theme even permeated the kitchen, which featured a large black-and-white marble island surrounded by black cabinets. Usher sold the home for $775,000 in 2019.

Spanish-style Sunset Strip home

After splitting from his first wife Tameka Foster in 2009, Usher married his manager, Grace Miguel, in a secret ceremony in Cuba in 2015. That same year, he paid $3.3 million for a Spanish-style residence in West Hollywood, set just above the Sunset Strip. The home, originally built in the 1920s, measured 4,261 square feet and featured five bedrooms and four full and two half bathrooms spread across three stories. Usher’s obsession with dark walls continued in this dwelling, where the double-height entryway featured numerous contemporary artworks highlighted against jet-black walls and a grand staircase with wrought-iron railing. Amenities included a state-of-the-art home theater lined with velvet curtains, a primary suite with its own private terrace and two-person soaking tub, a family room with French doors opening onto a deck overlooking the swimming pool, and two en suite guest bedrooms that could be easily converted into fitness studios.

It was at this home that Usher and Miguel were robbed of $20,000 in cash and a litany of jewelry and watches (the most expensive watch was reportedly worth $220,000). At the time, the couple had the house on the market for $4.2 million, so Miguel told police it was possible that the thieves had unlocked a window during an open house so they might return to steal the goods.
